Life, more precisely love, sometimes really does feel like a series of unfortunate events
I have always found it fascinating in an appalling sort of way how the very person who is the light of your life, the center of your very 'happy' universe gets downgraded due to varying circumstances, to a distant memory. Sometimes its something you've said that's irreparable, sometimes it's something the other person's said or done that makes the idea of being together any longer simply unimaginable. Doesn't really matter how you to get to that situation, but you do end up in that place, after everything's been said and done. The means are not really the issue, the end is...so how is it that human beings love and love and love again, only to lose each time? And still, while some may become bitter or cynical or irrational about this weird emotion called love, yet there's hardly anyone who's able to resist it's pull the 2nd or the 3rd or the 4th time around. If history is any indication, even a scientific and rational thinker like Einstein fell madly in love and got married. It didn't last because of the very fabric of his personality but he believed in it enough at the time to take the plunge. Hitler is another startling example, so is the legend of Alexander the great falling in love with Cleopatra.
Love is an endless cycle....people fall in and out of love every day.
